Best surgical hospitals in the world are highlighted. Medical tourism has been around for a long time, probably since the first hospital was created. Initially, it was a way for people in less developed countries to access superior quality in medical treatment. But given the surge in medical costs over the last few decades, an inverse process has begun to emerge, whereby people in first world countries travel to cheaper destinations to get lower costs on all types of treatment. The reasons that drive these people to travel abroad can go beyond prices, and include a search for treatments that may not be legally allowed on their native lands.
The focus of this ranking was on the major hospitals listed in this ranking with excellent quality in surgical procedures, and consulted this list against the Medical Travel Quality Alliance’s own list of the world’s best hospitals for medical tourists. Finally, these results were compared with the Forbes report on the best hospitals in the world.
